I found this solid wood bookcase in our local thrift store. It is in perfect condition and has the cutest little legs. It has somewhat of an Asian flair to it.

I knew I wanted to do something different on the back so I took a small rubber mallet and punched out the back. It was so easy to do.

After that I hammered out the rest of the staples.

I used an echo friendly white paint for the back. It took several coats, but was definitely worth it.

I wanted a coastal feel so I painted it in a beachy blue.

Once everything was painted, I gave it all a light sand, then took my electric stapler and put the back piece back on. I took a sand block and distressed the whole piece especially around the edges, then waxed it all over to seal it and give it a nice shine.

Here it is, fresh, functional and so pretty! I love how it looks now and it’s perfect for your lovely beach decor, books or even in a bathroom or entryway.

As always, thank you for stopping by, have a great week!
