Painting & Stencilling an Adirondack Chair With Milk Paint & Hemp Oil

For The Love Creations

I hate sanding and any sort of prep. That's why Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint suits me.
The only preparation I took on this chair before painting was running a broom over it to remove the cobwebs & dead critters. I didn't even scrape the chipping paint off
other than what came off with the broom.
At first I thought I wanted it to be a very bold yellow...it actually stayed like this for a very long time and eventually....I changed my mind (as I often do!)
So I mixed up Milk Paint in Dried Lavender and got painting. I actually really liked how the yellow looked peeking through the lavender, so I only did one coat.
When it was finished, I felt it needed one more little something special...so I added a stencil in a metallic gold.
The final step was a coat of Miss Mustard Seed's Hemp Oil. It's heat and water-resistant and will seal and protect the paint as well as the wood underneath! Voila!
