Any light color - dark floors show everything. White or a pale yellow would be pretty.
Do you have any other colours in the room yet? What look are you going for? I’d suggest a light or medium tone colour. Maybe a tan like SW Accessible Beige or Loggia?
Please post a picture of the room so that we can see what your decor style is and what are some other features of the room that the color of the floor may be competing with.
Tend toward the paler colors for your floor, bring home samples so you can see what they will look like in your light.
I would get some paint samples and see how they complement the wall color. Often a neutral tone works best over the long term. So posibly a sand (light beige to tan) would be excellent. Dark colors can be attractive but take a lot of care to keep looking nice.
You want a light tone to bring in or make the area seem larger and brighter. The exact color depends on your decor and what colors you either love or hate. Why not paint a faux rug on the floor?
Not only would that bring another shade into your room but add some interest to the floor as well.

it depends on if you like dark, medium or light colors you could paint it white and distress it for a cottage look

Also keep in mind that a darker color floor will show lint, sand, threads, dust, flour, etc. more readily than a lighter color.
I am in process of painting my pine floors white. I've only gotten the hallway and a few feet of the den finished but I love it. It's surprisingly easy to keep clean, even on a farm with tons of mud. But I also invested in a good trapping entry mat.
Perhaps a light grey. Something that hides the dirt well as it is a cottage
It all depends upon your style. For a cottage look, I like a large checkerboard on a diagonal. Maybe in a tan and light brown.
Thank you to all. We are headed to the cottage in a few days and will take some tan and light grey paint samples. We might take a sample of a neutral blue (BM Old Blue Jeans) just to see what it might look like. We will definitely stay toward a lighter colour. Thanks shy for your input. I will see if I can put up a picture once we get there.
