With all our computers, smartphones, tablets, and other technical gadgets, there comes a hefty price. Handling all those cords without them getting entangled.

Although it might seem impossible, you can tame your cord mess and make sure they are always neatly set aside.

You just need a DIY fabric cord wrap. Also known as The Gift From The Gods.

You can make this cord wrap fast and easy, with the right instructions. Here are those instructions.

Cut the fabric

Download the free fabric cord wrap pattern and print it out. The pattern comes in three sizes, so choose which one you’ll need. Cut out the pattern and throw away the excess paper.

Use the pattern as a guide and cut out the fabric.

You’ll need three fabric pieces, one outer, one inner fabric, and the interfacing. All of them should be equal in size.

You will also need two small square pieces of hook and loop fastener.

Stack the layers

Turn the inner fabric wrong side up. Place the interfacing on top of it, with its bumpy side down. Align the edges.

Fuse the two together with a hot iron.

Place the outer fabric on the inner fabric with their right sides facing inward. Align the edges and pin the layers.

Sew the cord wrap

Sew around the layers, leaving a gap for turning on one of the long edges. Notch the curves and turn the fabric inside out.

Fold the raw edges of the opening in and pin them. Press the entire thing well.

Finish the cord wrap

Topstitch all around the cord wrap.

Place the hook and loop fastener near each curved edge and pin. One of them should be on the front of the wrap while the other should be on the back.

Sew each one in place and the cord wrap is finished!
