Market Place Fire Surround Transformed My Dining Room
I found myself scrolling through market place on Facebook when I came across a fire surround for £10 I Messaged the seller and arranged to collect.
I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it at first but knew it would come in use.
My day off work came around with nothing to do I went into the shed, I found an old wallpaper I had bought and never used aswel as a foam dado rail I found on ebay over a year ago, I brought everything into the dining room. I had wallpaper paste in the cupboard aswel as scissor and a Stanley knife. Within 4 hours I had completely changed the look of the dining room. I'd picked up the grey eggshell paint for another project a few weeks back so had everything I needed. My total spend for this project was £10 even if I had bought everything at once it still would have come in under £50
£10 fire surround on Facebook Market place. It needed a little TLC. I cleaned it up sanded it down and gave it a lick of paint.
I really wasn't feeling the dining room like this. It was dark, boring just not me really. I felt it lacked character.
I always use sample wallpaper to give me and idea of how something could look.
Having this shabby chic drift wood wallpaper in the garage I pulled it out placed it behind the TV as a visualiser.
I really wasn't sure at this point but I told myself to trust the process. I was having fun.
Even if it didnt work everything can be changed right 😉
I put the fire surround against the wall a few times to remind myself of the end result.
And here is the results. The room feels so fresh and bright! I may even add a little electric fire one day.
Some left over wallpaper a bargain fire surround and a dado rail! what a difference.

Cute! Definitely get rid of the TV in the dining room. Get some small colorful pillows for lumbar cushions. Done!
