Removing couch skirting?
I lifted my couch skirt, and what a difference! I want to rip the fabric off but don't know where or what to do after it's stripped. There is white fabric underneath.

Although different brands of couches use different methods to attach the skirting, generally staples are used.

Removing the skirt from a sofa or chair can really "modernize" the look. As Flipturn provided, it's not too difficult to do. If there's an area left after removing the skirt that is not pretty, cover it with some briad, ribbon, or nailheads to enhance to look of your sofa. You can find such items at a fabric/craft store such as JoAnns, Micheals, or Hobby Lobby.
I would try to pull the staples out or unstitch it carefully. Then, if there is anything exposed you can cover it up with fabric paint or upholstery cording so it looks intentional.
Use a staple remover then pull off carefully. I have a drapery fabric warehouse near me that sells beautiful tims that can be glued or stapled on the edges. Or as someone else said you can get nailhead in Lowes to freshen up the edges.

How to cut the skirt off a couch?
Hello. Another easy alternative this is to staple the skirt along on the bottom. Depending upon how many staples are there it could be an easier maneuver.

Make sure the liner underneath is stapled tightly and you shouldn't see it after that. I think that material stretches over time.
Once you remove it you could use Fray Check or a product like it to secure any loose threads.
