Dollar Tree DIY Patriotic Garland Wreath

When I walk around Dollar Tree and see random items that I can create with, it makes me super excited to get home and get crafty! For $3.00, I picked up a wreath form and two garlands then used some supplies from my stash to create a Patriotic Garland Wreath DIY project. Perfect for the Fourth of July and the rest of the year. I like to show my spirit for all things red, white, and blue by keeping up some decorations year-round. It also helps me remember the brave men and women who have made us the Home of the Free because of the Brave.

Dollar Tree DIY Patriotic Garland Wreath

Here’s what you need to make a red, white, and blue Garland Wreath:

  • Patriotic Garland, 9’ – Two from Dollar Tree
  • Wreath Form, Foam – 10” from Dollar Tree
  • Craft Paper – Silver Glitter  from Dollar Tree
  • Red Ribbon – from Dollar Tree
  • Letter Stickers – Blue and White 1”
  • Craft Punch or Template – Star-Shaped 3” (or draw your own!)
  • Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Scissors – I love my Fiskars!

Here’s how to create a Patriotic Wreath from Dollar Tree Garland:

STEP ONE

Gather all supplies. Attach one end of the first garland to the foam wreath base with the glue gun and glue sticks. TIP: Use the metal end of closed scissors to hold the garland in place until the hot glue sets. Wrap garland around half of wreath and secure end to wreath form with the glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP TWO

Attach and wrap second garland around the other half of the wreath form, securing both ends with glue.

STEP THREE

Punch or cut out three stars from silver glitter craft paper. If you don’t have a star punch or template, draw a star on plain paper, cut out and trace.

STEP FOUR

Measure and cut a 14” length of red ribbon. Attach letter stickers to silver glitter stars and then attach stars to ribbon with the glue gun and glue sticks to create a banner.

STEP FIVE

Attach ribbon banner with stars to either side of the wreath with glue. Tie red ribbon into two bows and glue to both sides of ribbon banner to finish.

Summer is on the way and I am so excited for the warm weather and getting crafty with the kiddos. We haven't really jumped into rock painting, yet, so I am getting started with some fun red, white, and blue-inspired  Patriotic Painted Rocks to Celebrate America

Let's make a  DIY Upcycled Blue Jean Patriotic Banner with limited supplies in just about 15 minutes.

Sharing is Caring!

Don’t use on a door covered by a glass outside door I made several years ago and the sun and metallic created heat and could cause a fire caused by sun on west side of house. Would be okay as long as you have no storm door on outside
