Wondering if I would paint this table if it would look right instead of the bench? And if so what color? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hello its a personal choice. If it were my situation I like the benches size particularly height best as its less competition with two garage doors.

Hi, Use a Marine varnish on top once you have finished for all weather protection.

  • I prefer using the benches, however if you'd want to paint the tables you can go for classic walnut.

The bench goes well between the 2 garage doors.

As for the color, you could paint the bench and the table a deep blue/gray, that would bring them together at least in color, style of the pieces are very different.

Use and exterior marine paint after you clean them and sand rough edges.

  • Personally, I like the bench better. I would paint it a contrasting color so it didn't blend into the background. Be sure to use a good sealer to protect it from the weather.

you need to use a protective coating on that table if you want to use it outside otherwise it will not last very long- also a bench is more practical since you can sit on it - wondering what you are using the table for outside to eat on or just for decor?

I would use the bench, more practical. Then maybe paint the table a fun color for somewhere on your porch, if you have the space, or inside in an entry way as a drop off for keys, mail, etc.

Keep the bench and move the table out of the elements.

You can put anything outdoors, but the pieces that will last the longest will be made of:

    treated lumber

naturally water-resistant woods such as cedar, cypress, teak, or redwood

If your furniture does not fall into those materials, then you will want to apply an exterior varnish to protect the wood.

You can definitely paint it. Clean with TSP then prime and paint with an exterior paint. I would go with turquoise because it will really pop against the siding.

The table works for me. I would however put larger plant on the top. The two smaller pieces are dwarfed in proportion to the space. Try staining the table top and coating with outdoor grade poly. Paint the legs a shade of green, your favorite. Green is a neutral that goes with anything. Put an urn with a large plant on top to balance out the space. Plastic urns are not too expensive and put in a faux plant if your don't want to water.

  • I would take a color sample from the bench (one of the lighter colors) and paint the table that color. Or you could paint the legs white and match the top of the table to the coloring of the bench.

I love that table in that spot. Heck I just love that table. I would paint it Oil Rubbed Bronze. It will be dark enough to always look good and you will not have to clean it as often as white or a light color.

  • Honestly, whichever you like is what you should go with as it’s a personal preference, same for a color choice. Just be sure to seal up well with an exterior rated sealant.

Yes, exterior grade paint or stain/spar varnish. Be sure and to coat the bottom of the feet very well. The feet will rot first if they aren’t kept off the concrete.

Yes it needs a large planter or pot on it.

Whatever color your pot/planter is- will help determine the table color.

What other accent colors are part of your exterior color scheme?

I would re finish it naturally, But if you were to paint, maybe a off-white/cream color
