How To Make Flags For The Fourth
Today, I’m sharing how to make flags for the fourth. The fourth of July is around the corner and these are easy to make for your celebrating.
First Steps To Make This Project For The Fourth, Cutting Fabric
First of all, how to make flags for the fourth, I cut fabric 9″ x 6″. After cutting the fabric, I add Stop Fraying to the edges, let dry completely. These towels may not fray, however, I knew my fabric was going to so this is necessary. After drying, I then cut any leftover fibers sticking out. By they way, this product is amazing! I highly recommend buying this for future projects.
Additional Steps For The Flags Using Old Jeans and Dowels
Next, using jeans I do not wear anymore, I cut six pieces 3 x 3. By the way, use six so the flags are pretty on both sides. To make sure how to make flags for the fourth were square I did use a carpenter square.

After cutting the jeans, stencil stars using white craft paint and let dry. If you need a stencil here is a great choice. These are especially good because you get multiples, furthermore, they will be great for other holidays.
The next step for how to make flags for the fourth is adding a pole. Here using a thin dowel we cut the dowel in three pieces. After these are cut, I add a small amount of raw umber craft paint to a paper plate.
Next using my finger I cover the dowel. After it is covered with the paint, using a rag I wipe off the excess. This give me the look I specifically want for how to make flags for the fourth.
For the next step, add glue to the edge of the flag. Now, place down the dowel and let dry for a second.
After this step, add glue to the top of the dowel.
The last thing is rolling the flag over the dowel. Press lightly and let dry for a second.
Lastly, using my hot glue gun I add nine dots of glue. Also make sure when adding the glue to get the corners well. So then, carefully flip them over and place the on the flag and press slightly.

Displaying My Flags In A Blue Jar
As a rule, I use my antique blue mason jars for my patriotic holidays. Here, I add a red and white check napkin and little wooden stars. These are painted with white craft paint on both sides.
Placing this on a white ironstone platter as well as a deeper red and blue plate adds another patriotic element. It also keeps it simple. Next, using a vase I found that looks like an upside down mason jar. I add white rice for some interest and texture along with the flags.
