Grouting a backsplash?

I have just completed installing our new kitchen backsplash (it has set for 24-36 hours depending on the section). I just got word that we need to leave tomorrow for a family issue. Do I need to get it grouted tonight or can it wait a week until we get back home? TIA!

It can wait, you can do this when you come back so you will not be rushed. Once the tiles have cured they are fine. Just be sure they are clean and dry, nothing has been done to them while you are gone.
It is actually better to wait to ensure that all the glue is entirely dry and the tiles are really set in place before applying the grouting. As long as the tiles and the backsplash are not exposed to direct water, you can wait an indeterminate length of time before grouting.
I would suggest however to shut off the water to the kitchen while you are gone to prevent damage from the once-in-a-million chance that there may be a leak somewhere in the taps.

It will be fine to leave the grouting for a later time! No problem at all.
Your fine if you have to wait. Tiles set in thinset or tile adhesive need minimum of 24 hours for the thinset to harden. There is no required maximum time.

As long as there is no concern of dirt getting in between the tiles then yes you can wait. What you can't wait for is to clean out the thinset that is in between the tile preventing a clean and deep install of the grout. Reason being is the longer you wait the harder it will be to clean in between since the thinset will set even harder. I would also remove any spacers so that it doesn't become more difficult to remove in a weeks time. Plus you'll probably want to reuse them.

You can wait. We are weekend warrior DIYers and sometime we have to juggle jobs or wait for supplies. We have waited a really long time for grout ...it'll be fine.
