Give Your Gazebo a Custom Look
I added a privacy wall/ T.V. to our gazebo by framing up one side of the gazebo and adding pine tongue and groove to the inside. Not only does it create privacy but it's the perfect place for mounting a t.v. , hiding the not so pretty part of our backyard behind it, and blocking the strong winds we get....and it gives the gazebo a cozy feel.
Although there are many other ways we could've done this wall, we did it this way for our home, weather and purpose. And we love it. It's getting a ton of compliments already and it's the best place for watching the game...WIN!!!!
Note: we used left over 2x4 for framing the wall (from a previous project). But, you could definitely use 2x3 which would be cheaper and yet still suitable.

For reference, our gazebo is 10 x 10. To build the wall, I started with building a frame on the outside wall using 2 x 4. Cut to reach both left and right sides
After predrilling holes on either side, I screwed in the 2x4 on the bottom first (from the outside of gazebo).
This is the first and bottom frame from the outside of the gazebo.
Do the same for the middle frame (from the outside)
From the inside of the gazebo, I added a 2x4 in the middle to support the wall.
Add a 2x4 on the right of the middle frame.
Then add a 2x4 to the left of the middle frame.
I needed to notch out the wood for the two side frames since the gazebo had some detail to get around.
I needed to notch the sides to fit against the arch of the gazebo.
Ready to add the tongue and groove wall to the inside of the gazebo.
I used pine tongue and groove, which was left over from a previous project. I stained and weather proofed with Thompson Water Sealer. I only clamped the first bottom piece, then it was easier to snap each piece in.
Measure your shorter piece each time, in case there is some variance. Measure twice!
We had poplar half round on hand, left over from another project, so I finished off the sides by adding it to either end. This also covers any imperfections with measurements and adds a finished look too.
I precut all my longer pieces first (72.5 inches).

Next up the T.V. goes up!
Privacy gazebo wall addition is done. We mounted a t.v. and will be adding a floating shelf below it for some decor likes plants and candles. We are ready for some summer fun.
