The image on the left is what I'm wanting each window in my door to look like. I'll be using clear frost glass paint.
Stenciling

Any good ideas?

You could paint the entire surface to provide privacy, then paint a 2nd & 3rd coat using the stencil or a different color.
You could put privacy film over the glass and then stencil on the privacy film.
I agree with the other two suggestions. You could do a light window film over the entire pane and then add your pineapple stencil :)
What you could do is put blue painters tape over some of the cutouts. This would reduce their size. Did a rough coverup on the stencil. Just an idea
Consider using a frosted painted affect using the stencil on the right side.
Redactec's idea is fantastic -- stencil the pattern onto privacy film. In order to do the pattern in reverse, you'd need the reverse pattern.
I'm considering all the great ideas suggested here. Thanks so much everyone!
My experience with Rustoleum’s frosted glass paint is that it didn’t wear well despite my cleaning the glass very well first.
Therefore frosted film sounds good to me.
Pick up some frosted spray paint and do the reverse stencil idea (that seems like it would provide the most privacy while still allowing you to peak outside. Would love to see how this turns out. Good luck!!!
Hi Jeannette, I would put a frosted film on, then you can put the stencil over that for a nice effect.
I would use the frosted spray paint, let it dry then use the stencil with either another color, or very carefully use a Qtip with alcohol or acetone and take the paint off using the stencil, essentially reversing the stencil
contact paper has one for windows that is in different shapes, etc and they look nice that is what I would use

Use a non see through cloth as a backing. You will be able to see your design, but not see through
Paint the background black first then stencil in white
I would use etching cream on the glass. It will give it a frosted look. You can buy it at Michaels, Hobby Lobby or Amazon.
Put up a frosted film and stencil on that.
