A few BB sized dots in the path of ants takes the poison back to the queen. if you don't kill the queen you are only killing the worker ant and she just makes more. I have never had it not work within 1 day. Terro traps take days to work. Optigard will have them eating the poison in 30 minutes.
I have used that Optigard gel and it does work. I found the point of entry and smeared peppermint essential oil as recommended by someone on Hometalk and it worked like a charm.
Use streight vinager we’re they are it will kill them and go around the whole boarder of your kitchen walls to .you should also go around your house with a spray and do the foundation if your getting them inside

Make sure no open food is out, spray ant spray along side the patio door and windows to the kitchen on the outside.
