How to deal with oversized mirror in bathroom while painting?
I want to take off wallpaper and paint, but behind the mirror the wall is not painted and is not wallpapered either as far as I can tell. The mirror is huge - like 6 feet wide, so too big and heavy for me to try to take off. Can I just paint around it?

Yes you can. It is easier to do just that than try to remove such a bulky fragile item and risk getting injured. I would paint under it as far as my paintbrush would allow and leave it at that.
Yes, you can. Just tape it off so no paint gets on it while painting around it.
Hello. Yes-We have done the same thing painting around the mirror. Sometimes it seems like the simplest and safest thing to do.
Hi Barb, yes! the safest way to deal with the large mirror that may actually be glued to the wall, is to mask it off and paint. You could even paint without masking it if you have a clean damp cloth to clean up any paint that inadventently gets on the mirror. Safety first!...so don't try to remove the mirror by yourself!
Yes, you definitely can paint around it. I have done that myself by simply taping around the mirror to protect it.
yes, just use painter's tape on all sides of the mirror and once paint is dry just pull the tape off the only way to paint behind it is to remove it
Sure you can paint around it! Just get behind it as much as you can so you can't see any lines!
Just paint around it. If you can see under the edges just tape off and use a fine art brush to get under the edges.
Thank you all for your answers.
No reason you can't paint around it. I used an angled brush to cut in paint right up to the edge of mine. If it isn't framed, just mirror, and you get a bit of paint on it you can scrape it off easily with a plastic edge like a spatula.
Yes I would I have and you can’t even tell then use a streight side razors to scrape off paint
Yes you can just paint around it
Yes, most definitely.
Tape paper over it so you don't get splashes on it!
