My Uncle Sam Upcycled Chip Can for the Fourth of July is a quick and easy kid’s craft to make in just about 30 minutes with Dollar Tree supplies. Crafting with the kiddos is one of my favorite things to do. Create a fun container to keep sparklers ready to celebrate the Fourth of July. A FREE pattern download is included on my website.

Here’s what you need to make a Patriotic Pringle’s Craft:

Crafting with the Kiddos Uncle Sam Upcycled Chip Can

To begin the Uncle Sam Upcycled Chip Can craft, gather all supplies. Clean the inside and outside of the chip can with a damp paper towel.

Apply a basecoat of Americana Titanium White acrylic paint to the outside of the chip can. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Download, print, and cut out the Uncle Sam Upcycled Chip Can pattern sheet at the link above. Trace patterns onto red, white, and blue craft foam according to instructions on the pattern sheet with a pencil or marker.

Cut out all patterns with scissors, inside the traced lines, so you have a clean and finished project.

Attach red craft foam stripes vertically to the top of the chip can with the glue gun and glue sticks.

Glue the blue craft foam hat band onto the chip can horizontally. Slide the red craft foam hat brim onto the chip can and secure it with glue under the hatband.

Trace face pattern onto chip can with a pencil. Paint Uncle Sam’s face with an Americana Flesh Tone color of your choice. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Punch out six stars and one nose from silver glitter cardstock. Assemble Uncle Sam’s facial features using the photos as a guide. Attach stars onto the blue hatband with the glue gun and glue sticks.

Quick and Easy Dollar Tree Uncle Sam Upcycled Chip Can

Look at the items around you to see what unique projects can be created with traditional materials. Celebrating the USA has never looked more kid-friendly.

This super fun Pringle’s chip can craft is fabulous to make with the little ones in just about 30 minutes. Work on color, cutting, and counting skills then display on the mantle to celebrate all Summer long! I would LOVE to see what you create, so tag me on social media.

Oh, my goodness. This is so stinkin' ADORABLE!!! I'm on a diet right now, but I may have to suspend it for a bit so I can finish a can of Pringle's to make one of these. 😁

    Thank you for sharing. 🏆🇺🇲

Take unopened cans to pool. Bring to the most stressed mom there. Open, pour into zippered baggie and give to her. Make lots of people happy! 😊

I like this. I also see other things too, a firecracker. For an exploding firecracker with shiny streamers out the top. There are short canisters too. I see this as a great rainy day project for bored tweens. Pringle’s aren’t just for 4th of July either. Any holiday can be adapted to this idea. Thanks for sharing
