I live on a lake and also have a lot of dampness and shade around the back of my house so we have dealt with them for years. I tried everything on the market even exterminators and nothing kept them away so we now use Ortho Home Defense I spray the entire perimeter around the outside of my home and inside my garage usually every 30-60 days and then inside my home a couple times a year- it kills them and it keeps them away

Go buy a spray called Home Defense. Use it inside and outside. It works and lasts a long time.
My favorite pest control product is diatoemaceous earth. It is pet & kid safe. You sprinkle it and leave out. Once they come in contact, it will kill anything with an exoskeleton.
