You can, but it is a very tedious job and you want to make sure there is water proofing. I truly think this is a job for a professional. You do not want wood rot.

Adding a masonry siding to a house is done by attaching "brick ties" to the existing frame in the wood and then securing in the mortar joints of the stone. They are long, thin pieces of metal that you hammer or screw into the wood.

You would have to start at the bottom and work up. Maybe using a stone adhesive or a cladding mortar mix.
