Eclectic Powder Room

Why not go a little crazy with a small powder room? After all, it's just paint and if you don't like it, you can always paint over it. So, let's have some fun...

Here is the space. This powder room has a slanted ceiling section and it goes up pretty high. The base color is a very light gray in an eggshell finish (this is important because you want a "washable surface" and this makes it easier to paint).

This is the "after". We are going for a crazy, bold and free geometric design.

I first use a white chalk to draw my design. No rules, no measuring, just fill in areas with shapes and lines. I do try to have angles and also try to have a certain size consistency.

Using a one inch flat brush, I paint the lines with black acrylic/latex paint. I go over it twice to make sure the paint looks solid black.

And that is it. Then hang your art pieces and you now have an eclectic powder room.

Hope this inspires you to go a little crazy and create fun designs of your own instead of wallpaper.
