How to encapsulate a crawl space DIY
My wife is wanting to get a contractor to encapsulate our crawl space.
Is this something a DIY weekend warrior such as myself can accomplish.

I'm not sure how well you would be able to get it "tight" like they do. However, my husband did ours with an insulating reflectix. He used a staple gun to attach to the floor joists and laid 2x2 to pull tight where the walls meet the ground. It has made an amazing difference in the comfort of our floors.
HI Marty! Yep you can do it yourself. At any local home improvement store you can buy skirting to go all the way around the outside. Its not difficult to put up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5el0yDhQhM

Hi! There are plenty of videos and articles on how to do it. I wouldn't, because I hate tight spaces, crawly things, etc. I could do it from the outside, but, not (shudder) from the inside. How about you?
Not sure if you just want to close it in or seal it off? Just closing it in, fill your boots if you are handy with a skill saw, sealing it off , not recommended as there may be important utilities down there that may need to be accessed one day
Hi Marty, you sure can do this!! Hope this helps you out,
