I have a window on my shed that I wanted to spruce up with shutters but did not want to pay for the cost of wood or buy vinyl shutters. I had a piece of roofing panel left over from my garden project that I thought would be perfect for this little project.

This is the piece of roofing panel it happens to be brown which is perfect as the trim around my window is too.

Here is my window, the first step was to measure the length of the window.

Next I laid the panel on the ground and measured out the length.

Using an exacto blade I scored a line to my desired length.

Once your line is scored just bend along the line and it will snap apart.

These are my two pieces cut. You can use your blade to clean up the edges if you need to.

You will notice in the picture some white paint on the panel. I had some Expresso brown paint and lightly sprayed the panel to cover the white. Using small nails and a hammer I attached my shutters.

Here are my new shutters!

This was s super easy project, and I love how it turned out. These panels come in a variety of colors and materials. One sheet depending on window size could give you 3 to 4 sets of shutters for under $25.00.

Would love to see a post on how you took that old bedstead and made it into a bench!
