Ever thought of doing something a bit different with pampas grass? Well here I show you my idea to make this vibrant stunning pampas mirror. This is my favourite diy I've made so far and hope everyone likes it too. I love pampas grass and wanted to do something different with it. This is what I came up with.

I had this boring old gold mirror lying around that I needed to something with so I decided this would be perfect for my pampas mirror idea.

I ordered 6 bundles of pink pampas from Ebay. You can buy it in a range of different colours though. I lot of florists have it or amazon and ebay have loads of pampas grass.

I trimmed each stem near enough to the feathery bit to leave enough room for all the other stems to be stuck down. I used 60 stems in total as the individual stems weren't that feathery so that's why I had to use loads but you can get some pampas that are much more thicker.

Then I turned my mirror around so I was working with the back of it and stuck my pampas stems down. My hot glue gun worked perfectly into sticking them firmly down.

Here you can see the pattern in which I was sticking the pampas stems down like. I kept going back to fill in all the gaps.

This is what It should look like after all the pampas stems have been stuck down and trimmed.

Finished

Turn your mirror over and there you have it. A complete pampas mirror. I think this is so beautiful and effective. I have this at the bottom of my stairs so I can see it every day and it always makes me smile. I look forward to people having ago at making one and have ago at using some different colours. Be interesting to know how they all come out like.

Version 2

Heres another one I created for my bathroom. I just added some wooden beads around the mirror to beak the brown colour of the pampas up a bit.

I’m wondering what you think about, my lightly spray painting my pampas grass grass, from my front yard?

Hope these pampas are glued on well as when they get dusty(as they will) they would need to take a vac cleaner all over them, unless you know of another cleaning trick?

In the 60s having pampas grass in your front garden was a sign you were swingers. Always makes me laugh as we have a big one in our front garden.
