Looked up a chip pan and saw it is a deep pan used for frying things like french fries. Is this what you have?

When the bottom and sides of my cookware get grease spots, I make a thick paste of baking soda and water and apply it to the pan, let it set overnight in the sink. The next day using the rough side of a scrubber sponge make circular motions to remove the grease. Repeat if needed.

Dawn dish detergent now has a power spray, but, even before they did, I put the Dawn in a spray bottle. Let it sit for awhile and then scrub the greasy mess off. Good luck!

Spray with a degreaser and scrub with a steel wool pad. If that doesn't work, oven cleaner method should get it done.

  • I hate using it, but oven cleaner should do it. Take it outside since the fumes are awful!
