Upcycle bedroom set?

Not sure what you have in mind, but of you still want to use it as bedroom furniture, you can refinish or paint it. Otherwise, I've seen headboards made into benches and dressers repurposed as a vanity for a sink.

A photo would have been helpful to see what you are starting with, what exactly do you want to do with what you have? Do you want to take it apart and make other uses or do you want to refinish it?

Hi Patti, depending on how many pieces are in your bedroom set, you can "upcycle" certain pieces for other areas of the home. Dressers can be painted or redone and used as storage in closets or guest rooms. Low dressers can be redone and used as buffet or dining room pieces. Night stands can often be used as end tables in a living room. Some people have used dressers as vanities in bathrooms by removing a top drawer or two. Just try to envision the main frame of the furniture as being used for something else in your home and I'm sure you'll come up with some great ideas!

remove all hardware,then sand all down till all varnish is removed.then paint any color you like I seen some done in black looked so awesome.

Painting always does wonders. If you want to repurpose, turn the headboard/footboard into a bench and use drawers for shelves and under bed storage.

Upcycle means using something for a purpose other than what it was originally intended for. For example, to upcycle a bedroom set you would be using the bedroom furniture pieces in some other parts of the home not as a bed or dresser to store clothing.
