Improved! Turn Junk Into a Beautiful Centrepiece Stand!

Here’s another idea expanded from my upcycled bowls side table. I show you how I made a beautiful centre piece using junk lying around the house. This didn’t cost me hardly anything to make ✨ I hope everyone likes it.

This is what I started with, I came across some old bowls that stored my marbles in and found this placemat I don’t used and I had the perfect idea….

I firstly glued the bowls on top of each other like in the photo using a hot glue gun. I find using a hot glue gun is perfect in bonding plastic together but if you have glass bowls you may need some stronger glue.

Next, I glued the bowls onto the placemat. I turned the bowls over and actually glued them onto the placemat by going all around the edge of the bowls making sure they were glued tightly on.

I found some beautiful rope that I thought would work perfectly at hiding the attached parts of the bowls and any glue you could see.

Turn it over and this is my result after I glued on the rope. You can see the stand starting to take it shape and vision how it’s going to look.

I decided on choosing silver to spray paint as it compliment my dinning room perfectly. You can pick what ever colour you want to get loads of different finished and unique looks. I sprayed on around 3 layers to make sure the coverage was exactly how I wanted it.

Make sure to always put something underneath when spray painting. I use old wallpaper samples and always spray outside because of the fumes or in a well ventilated space.

I had some old faux leaves lying around that I used to decorate around the bowls. I glued them on with a hot glue gun.

Finished Product!

Here, we have it the finished product! I really love how it compliments my table and my centre piece sits perfectly on top. This was really easy to make and was just using junk found around the house. Just shows you don’t have to spend a fortune. You can make something your own and make it look expensive.

Improved!!!

I had a idea to improve this diy as I just love it and wanted to make it at its best. I got these scatter crystals for the dollar store.

I decided I was going to make a border around the placemat using these crystals. I used a glue gun to stick these on.

Improved!

Finished! I love how these crystals finish the stand off perfectly and makes it look more appealing and a bit more special. This is something I would definitely buy if I saw it in a shop. I hope everyone likes the improvement. Let me know your thoughts and opinions.

If you just placed the crystals around the mat instead of gluing them on, I thought you could also flip it upside down and use the bowl (assuming you sprayed the inside of it silver, too) to hold various things, too. Anyway, looks pretty!

Thank you for sharing! You inspired me! I have been painting my walls this beautiful light blue and in some rooms the lower half is peel and stick wallpaper that looks like distressed planks of light blue and dark blue with white and beige. My other colors are white and navy blue. My house now has a beachy cottage feel. I am going to make this with one or more of my colors with some beachy accents. I don’t know when I will get to it though as I have several projects going on LOL. But I’m excited to make this!

    • Wow that sounds amazing glad I’ve inspired you! Please post photos on here when you have made it. Look forward to seeing it 😍
