Cute Nightstand Makeover

If you have seen any of my other projects, you know that I LOVE to paint and makeover furniture. I've had this cute little solid wood nightstand for quite a while and finally got around to revamping it!

I used me new Daydream Apothecary Neons and added a whimsical touch with some polka-dots. 😊

Here is what it looked like before I started. I'm sure it was cute in it's day but I had big plans to switch things up a bit!

I started by cleaning and lightly sanding the entire piece.

Next, I painted a coat of Ground Control, our beautiful white base, on the entire thing. This is the trick to really getting a bright and vibrant neon finish.

Once my white base was dry, I went in with Sundance. I really love this neon orange!

I brushed it on fairly thick in some areas and a little lighter in others.

These paints blend beautifully together without the use of a mister or spray bottle. I blended in some more white on the drawer and top and left most of the legs pure orange.

Next I added in some of our neon red called Mom's Night Out.

I was really liking the look but it just felt like it was missing something so I decided to try adding some polka-dots throughout the piece using a stencil.

I had several colors out and ready to go. Once I found the right spot, I added polka-dots in a different color than what was in that area. I let them kind of fade out towards the outer part of the stencil.

I loved the polka-dots so much and had to really restrain myself from adding too many! 🤣

I finished the piece by adding clear wax to the entire thing.

Thanks for following along and I hope you enjoyed this makeover! Check out my Instagram and website for more fun stuff!
