Hello. I wish I discovered this tip many relos ago. The pumice stone is perfect for removing toilet scale mineral buildup and any other collections. Great for thick crusted calcium mineral build up that the toilet waterbowl collcts.
They are found at my local Walmart for less than two dollars -good for multiple uses. Be sure to follow the use instructions, soaking the pumice stone in water for a few minutes. While the stone is soaking, grab your toilet brush and splash water up around the ring. Note: It’s very important to keep both the stone and the surface wet while cleaning to avoid scratching your porcelain.
here are some ideas

Try leaving Coca cola in in pan over night.
I would try something called "The works toilet bowl cleaner" its pretty crazy stuff. I haven't found anything it won't clean.
I ended up emptying my potty of water and then steam cleaning the inside of the bowl. This takes a few hours but the results were better then I expected.
I once pour 1/2 bottle of CLR (from Dollar Tree) in the bowl every night I left my clients house.... took about 5 days.... then this crust of stained minerals broke free.
It’s in the tank in the back of the toilet move the water around to stir it up then flush it keep doing that till it’s all go e
Shut off the water and flush. Add enough of The Works sold at the Dollar stores and let sit. This is the only thing I found to clean seriously stained bowls. You can add some to the tank as well . i left mine for a few hours and all rust and dark sediment was GONE. Best product on the market for toilets and one dollar a bottle.
You need a strong descaler. Drain all water from the bowl, clean and let sit for at least 15 minutes, then you can flush. I have a toilet swab that I use to get all the water out of mine. Fuller and Don Aslett both make a great product.
Use Lime Away. That's a buildup of lime on the toilet and believe me when I say nothing will remove it but Lime Away. If you have a local Dollar Tree, they sell it there for $1. You evidently have hard water, like me, so you will want to use that periodically on your toilet. I let it sit in the bowl overnight for best results.
We use CLR to clean hard water stains. But if there is too much build up, then you may need to carefully scrap off the bulk of the buildup....
I use something called Cerama Bryte on my porcelain sink and it works wonders. I'm sure it would do the same in the toilet.
What is the source of the sediment? Do you need a filter on well water? After you can get that figured out, then I'd scrub it out with a metal wire brush. Try using oxiclean and bleach to get rid of other staining.
it is not going to be easy .. getting a new one is less expensive
