You could put a tablecloth or fabric over it. Maybe a pretty plant or basket in it.

      Hi everyone!

I am grateful for all the inputs!

but I feel I didn’t put forth my concern clearly..this wash basin is having pipe connection and is working.

It is attached to the wall in centre and is facing the hall. I want to use it but keep it hidden..i hope i am explaining it correctly as i am not a native speaker of English 😐

Hello. A photograph might be helpful to know the exact size and dimensions and area you’re trying to conceal. Using adhesive Velcro could be an option with some fabric. Sometimes you could find sheets or even pillowcases at thrift stores for very little money. That’s an option you may wish to consider.

      This is the wash basin

Hello Depti, I would suggest locating a cardboard box that would fit over the sink with a few alterations made to it so a cut out open side would fit up against the wall. The cardboard could be covered with fabric, contact paper, wallpaper, or even painted to make an attractive cover for the basin if it is not used often.

place something on top of the basin like a board and then add a cover of an old tablecloth, blanket, quilt etc and use as a table or for storage

Agreed a board or a shelf would make it a work surface than you could throw a table cloth over it to really hide it. If you happen to have a deep, backless shelf you might be able to adjust the shelves to cover it up completely.

No problem Deepti! I'm thinking a curtain might be your best bet then. However, a tall shelf with no back placed over/around it would give you storage plus a place to hang the curtain too. Just some thoughts! Good luck!

I would cut a scrap piece of wood and set that on top making the surface level and strudy also. You could either paint it or stain it. If the wood is ugly put a cloth of some sort over it.

How about a decorative screen or a long curtain over it

if you use the basin then just add plants around it and make it look less out in the open or place a cover over it when not in use

You could use scrap wood and build a "box" around it.

You could also incorporate it into decor by adding a pretty skirt around it do a theme with dollar store items.

Take some fabric and sew a Box like piece to put over it. No fabric? Use an old dress or robe or even some scarves. Or, take a cardboard box, paint it with any kind of design you like & put that over it. What do you have in stock to use? Anything which will go over it will work.... Do you have any foamboard? If not, you can get a few pcs. from the Dollar tree, then cover it with fabric or something. If it's against a wall, which is likely, you only need to make two sides and a front to a box-like cover. It's simple! Use your imagination.

cover over with a nice looking sheet......

  • If you can get some old cardboard, from a large box and cover it with some Dollar Store contact paper (one roll might do the trick) or give it a quick coat of craft paint you could make a lightweight, moveable screen to hide it.

  • Maura White Maura White on Jul 31, 2021

Can you add a picture of it so we can see what we should help you hide?

  • You could check around for free wood sources if you want to build something or check the free section of Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace for something that might work.

Curtains? Hung with Command brand hooks?

    Hello Deepti,

Well use cardboard boxes to make a cover for it and then paint it, wallpaper it or cover it with a tablecloth or sheet.

  • Deb K Deb K on Aug 02, 2021

You could make a blind to put in front of it, like a room divider, or try pinning a light weight piece of fabric in front of it. You could also add something to the top to make a platform and use it like a hall table, drape fabric over the platform to hid all the mess underneath and put an ornament on it

  • I think curtains will work with this one.

hello Deepti, you can put a piece of cardboard or wood over top of the basin, and put a blanket or table cloth over it
