Hi Sonya, light colors will help a lot. If there is a shower curtain a clear curtain won't add even more weight to the room. My trick with smaller spaces has always been to try to think of them as "cozy" and then try to place off of that idea. Lighting makes a big difference too - replacing yellow (warm) bulbs with cooler light can really help too. Kinda like if you can't beat them join them lol Here's what we did to our tiny bathroom. https://www.hometalk.com/diy/bathroom/tiny-bathroom-reveal-from-embarrassment-to-moody-stunner-44351056

To Mogie's list I would add: use towels/bath mat in light colors, or white. Dark colors absorb light, making spaces appear smaller. Use a countertop soap dish in clear lucite or glass ( if you're sure no one will get injured, should it break).
Amp up your lighting with dimmable LED fixtures. Use low profile ceiling mount lighting. Chrome fixtures require frequent care to avoid spotting, but they reflect more light, as well. A vanity medicine cabinet with interior mirrored surfaces and glass shelves will also help the room appear larger.
Light walls will always reflect light and make a room look larger. Shiny surfaces like tile also in light color reflect light. Up the lighting by adding new fixtures with LED bulbs. Add a large mirror.
Add a large mirror to one of the walls
Paint with a light color, plank flooring to elongate the look, get rid of anything that is "out" on places like counter tops and shelves, large mirror, and bright lighting.
Paint the walls white..... keep everything as light as possible and just add your color in accents. Don't clutter!
Replacing an opaque or busy pattern shower curtain with a clear transparent one will let more light into the tub/shower space and make the whole room seem larger. If budget permits, upgrade to a clear glass panel instead of a curtain (example below). Without the overhead curtain rod, the tub/shower space will seem more spacious.
Paint it white or off white will help. reduce clutter.
I have a tiny bathroom with no window, so I have a huge mirror that covers almost the entire wall about the vanity and toilet on one side and on the other I have another mirror. Also very bright high hat lights.
De clutter it use cool colors light colors like white lt blue
Paint a bright white
Paring down any clutter and hiding away daily bathroom items, keeping the room minimal will help. If it's a dark room to begin with, lean into the dark as dark colors recede visually -- painting white or light doesn't automatically make a small room look bigger and may in fact make it look dirty and dingy.
Mirrors! Mirrors and light colors will always make a space look bigger. If you don't need under the sink storage space, use a pedestal sink to make the space appear larger.
