Fit one bedroom apartment into one bedroom
Need good storage and organising ideas: how I can fit a one bedroom apartment into a tiny bedroom at my mom's? Minus the furniture and big stuff!! I mainly have a ton of: clothes, paperwork, books, and my cat who has to live in the room with me with a queen size bed.

A good closet organizer will maximize your space in the closet. A file box for your paperwork and some good shelving for your books is a start.
you can buy rolling storage carts to put things in but you can also buy containers to store items in you don't use very much - label the boxes so you know what you have and neatly stack them in your room- I wouldn't use cardboard boxes but plastic containers for storage. Buy under bed storage containers also for shoes and other items. Good luck to you and your kitty.
Have you considered a Pod or a storage locker, that would take the stress and tension of not being able to maneuver around your bedroom. Decide what you need and leave the rest elsewhere. A Pod on site would make it available more readily than a storage unit.
Maybe sell the queen bed and get a twin bed for space.
Hi Jolene, go vertical! Clothing can be folded, organized, and placed on shelves. Buy manageable sized storage bins and label them with the contents and stack one on another. Some items could likely be stored beneath your queen bed by making slide-oout "trays" using shallow (cut-down) boxes.
Get a storage organizer from Walmart to put in your closet. Buy bins that fit under your bed. Put up shelves.
Utilize under the bed storage and add bookcases that go ceiling to floor. Consider purging if possible.
Declutter first.
If it doesn't fit, is damaged or you just don't love it throw it out (donate).
Look into bed frames that don't require box springs. This will buy you anywhere from 6 inches to over a foot of storage space. Check amazon and READ consumer reviews before purchasing.
Utilize wall space using shelveing. Consider putting a shelf near the ceiling for items rarely used (stuffed animals, trophies, etc.)
Make your own closet organizer. This is not only cheaper (usually) but it can be customized to your specific room.

It is best to utilize the space under the bed. So what you can do is buy storage boxes and organizers that can fit under the bed.
Get a lot of shelfs or floor shelfs it
For any non-fiction books that you may have, keep only those that you actually use on a regular basis. Donate the rest, and all the fiction books to the public library. If you ever do want to ready any of them again, it will always be free to borrow. Books are very heavy to lug around, and will begin to get mouldy and deteriorate if not stored properly.
