I live in Athens, Georgia and wouldnt mind going to Atlanta Georgia to deliver my furniture. I'm flipping an Ethan Allen dresser to give it a more modern style. I uploaded a picture of what it looks like now and what I want to do with it. The issue I am having is I am looking on facebook, etsy, etc. but the prices are all different. facebook has furniture for very cheap in the $50-$100 range but its not flipped. etsy has very high prices in the $600-1200 range but im not sure if its selling on there.

Hello Pushtee, it all really depends on what you want for a price, how many hours of work you put into and and how appealing it is to the buyers. You could go middle of the road with your pricing, between the facebook and etsy prices.

Every time I've ever tried to sell anything I always put it up in as many places as possible for the price I wanted for it.

You will have to decide what you want to make to cover your expenses for the project. You can always lower the price if it does not sell at the price you list it at.

  • With in terms of pricing this, you should definitely take in consideration your labor and your expenses. But it really depends on what price you want it to sell, and how it would appeal to customers.

Check out Ebay listings and sold listings to get prices. You can sell for local pickup. Etsy is high priced because they require sellers to open a store and charge 3.75% of the sale. And in most situations sellers ship themselves and include shipping costs into the sale. Facebook Marketplace is basically for local sales, is free so the prices. Check out Andrea Palmai. She flips a lot furniture and I assume she would gladly help you out.

Don't bother trying to add up your time and materials, etc. When it's finished and you choose a venue you compare it to other like it. It's worth what it will sell for.

You will get a much better price in Atlanta I'm sure. It's so difficult to price. You might want to joint a fb group that flips furniture. Once you have finished the piece, they can help you with staging and pricing. Styling & Staging Your Furniture For Sale is a good one.

What John says, and what the market will bare. Check out some other websites in your target market. Also depends on the piece, I used to do mid-century modern cause I collect it and have more expertise in the area.
