You can cut them off. Another way to go is drill holes in the stumps and add salt, that will kill the roots that are re-growing baby trees.

For the one all by itself, you could dig it out if possible, the axe, or lawn mower, otherwise spray with white vinegar.

If the cluster by the 2 big trees is a weed tree, just cut it off and you could try paint on the cut areas.

you need to get rid of the two big trees by the garage. the weed trees are shoots from that source. call a tree service in your area. worth it to get it done with a licensed and insured professional. they will get in and out and haul all the wood away . good luck.

Hello. We had the same problem we had a tree professionally removed and the stump ground dawn—some of the existing roots were shooting up as tree sprouts. Eventually it stopped with repeated lawn mowings. Removing as much of the tree roots as possible might be helpful

I can second the answer / suggestion of drilling holes in the stumps and pouring salt on them. As long as the trees remain they will continue creating seedlings. Personally I would keep the trees regardless but, if you did get rid of them, that would take care of your problem.

you can use weed killer or brush killer on the new shoots from the trees and it will kill them

Dig around the "babies" and cut them out at the root. Drill 1" holes in the stumps and pour rock salt in the holes and wet it down. It will take time and reapplication to kill the roots. You can dig around the the stumps about 2' out and cut the stumps from the roots. Pour in some rock salt in the hole.

Pull them. If they are truly tree seedlings, you have to get the tap root out or it will keep growing. If you leave the tap root they will generally come back.

You can spray them with white vinegar if they aren't too close to the flowers or shrubs. The vinegar will travel to the roots and kill them - spray on a sunny very warm day at the hottest part of the day! They can come back stronger if the tap root isn't killed.

2, 4-D will kill everything but pine trees and grass. Just be careful with the application so it doesn't kill something you don't want to die.

I would get them grinded out. That tree is too close to your house, It can ruin your foundation. I would have it taken out.

Dee I didn't even think of that but you are right! Had a crab apple tree we cut down but the roots shot suckers up the only way to kill them was to have a stump grinder take care of them. This was over 5 years ago and not one has grown back.

Unfortunately, that tree could do some serious injury to your home. The little tree weeds or sucklings need to be pulled out as soon as they start or they are a real problem. We just cut them back from a tree we have, after letting them go the last couple of years and I was shocked how thick they were. Some were an inch thick! But, first get that tree looked at. Considering how much damage it could do to your home, the cost of a licensed tree removal service will be money well spent. That may also solve part of your baby tree problem. We lost a tree last year to a lightening strike and fell between the buildings and didn't hit my car because it caught on the chain link fence along the driveway. Insurance paid for it to be cut up and we gave the firewood to someone who could use it. But, it could have destroyed our wood storage building, a statue in the yard, the fire pit, our house, etc. If it landed on them. So that's what I would address first. Stay safe!

    Hello,

Call in a Tree Fella to remove them for you safely! Have him cut up into logs for use as Stepping stones or Slice lengthways to use as Garden Benches, or only cut off the top and have a bird table on top or have a chainsaw sculpture make!

These are large trees right near a structure. You are best off to pay to have these taken down by a professional with adequate insurance should they land on your house!
