Douglas Hunt on Jul 11, 2012In general, early spring, just before the first flush of growth, is the best time to prune roses, Angela. Some particularly vigorous growers may need a mid-season trim. On the other hand, late fall is an excellent time to take cuttings for propagation. (Please note that you cannot do this legally on any rose under patent.) You'll find a detailed explanation of how to do so here: http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/southerngarden/roseprop.htmlHelpful Reply
