Painting Vertical Stripes

Our entryway was awful. Two different terrible colors with a chair rail. It was time for a big bold move and with the stripes it was! What a fun
Here are the finished stripes! There's still quite a lot that needs to be done in this area of the house, but this is a start!
I began by ripping out the chair rail and patching up the wall, trying to get everything as smooth as glass.
Next up, I primed the wall with some white paint so that the colors would be as true as possible. This also sealed up the drywall patch and the ugly colors from seeping through. After that, I measured out the stripe widths and snapped charcoal lines.
Next up, lots of taping! Normally tape averse, I had no choice here if I wanted clean straight lines.
I only needed the small sample size paints from the store for the extra colors I didn't already have. Come visit my blog via the link below to see what colors I used.
While I still need to rip out the stair carpet, paint the stairway, maybe get a new light fixture, someday replace the door I'm not a fan of, at least this is a fun start!
Please come visit my blog Flipping the Flip for all sorts of details on how I completed this look!
