Hi Dee, you're welcome, so glad it's useful. I recently came across a bespoke kitchen with an asking price of $500,000 - that's like a house. It was way over the top with Gold Taps etc. I remember the last kitchen I remodeled, I got my brother to help me fit it and saved over $2,000 on that cost alone. I'm fortunate as my elder brother has the ability to turn his hands, with amazing skill, to any Home Improvement job. Have a great day Dee. Graham

The big drivers for kitchen remodels are the scope, materials and who will do the work. The materials, cabinets, appliances, make up the bulk of the cost of a kitchen remodel - and labor comes in a close second so that is where you need to start. You dont have to buy " cheap" items to get a lower price. An easy way to save thousands on your kitchen remodel is to start buying items early and let quality and price drive your choices. A good example is a sink faucet..bought full price retail you could pay $500. But if you are flexible on the finish/design etc. you can shop around, craigslist, ebay, plumbing stores and find an overstock, closeout, open box faucet that that is of the same quality as the $500 but because someone wants to sell it fast..the price is $100. This savings strategy takes time..but you can save thousands of dollars - maybe even ten thousand letting selecting low price high quality fixtures, cabinets, appliances etc. The kitchen remodel cost calculators at http://www.remodelormove.com/remodel-cost-calculators can give you an instant cost estimate for a kitchen remodel and several ideas of how to save.
