Whats the cheapest site online to buy a ceiling fan?

KMS Woodworks on Jul 14, 2012you need to factor in shipping too...fans are big and heavy. Shopping locally at a big box home center can usually get you out the door the cheapest....but when it comes to fans keep in mind ...cheap is cheap and will not last or perform as well as a quality unit. I have seen many folks install $69 hampton bay fans from HD only to be disappointed with their long term quality + noise etc. When I put in a new fan in my master suite I went with a upper model Hunter...the thing is very quiet and smooth...worth the 200 bucks in my book.....Quality lasts.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jul 14, 2012Check out BellacorPro. This is a pro site where people can get some really great deals. You would need to set up an account and be approved but there are tons of lighting, decor, bath and kitchen goodies among other things that you will find helpful. http://www.bellacor.com/?partID=logoemailb041712Helpful Reply

LandlightS on Jul 14, 2012Marvin....I would strongly suggest a Hunter Fan from either Lowes or Home Depot. The models carried at each store are made for them, so you cannot compare prices of the same model at each store. I tIend to stay away from Hampton Bay (HD) and Harbour Breeze(Lowes) as they do not have te quality motor and blade pitch as the comparable priced Hunerfan. Additionally, the ease of return should you experience a problem is a great convienence. And as KMS said cheap is cheapHelpful Reply

Jeanette S on Jul 15, 2012I agree that Hunter is the best! Our last one lasted over 25 years! They are not nearly as expensive as they were when they got so popular in the 70s. Pay the little more and get a good Hunter. You will not regret it!Helpful Reply

LandlightS on Jul 15, 2012Jeanette..the Hunter Original is the best of Hunter.. The Hunter fans, other than the "Original" are good fan in the big box price range, however for slightly more dollars, Casablanca, Emerson and Kitchler fans are far superior. They are only available at lighting stores, but not at Home Depot or LowesHelpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jul 15, 2012The old story goes. You get exactly what you pay for! Its not about cost, but more about noise, vibration, balance that makes or breaks a fan. Also better fans have better finishes and more efficient motors then the lower cost big box store brands. So you may pay less for a fan, overall your paying more in the long haul. A good quality fan like kids should be seen and not heard.Helpful Reply
