    Have you thought about buying sheets in different colors at the local thrift stores and cutting them into strips? I did this and think it would save money and they turn out nicely.

    Do you have to hem the strips - to stop them from fraying, especially when u have to wash them. What size crochet hook would you use? Gabrielle from Sydney Aust.

      When I make rag rugs, I use a size N hook with 2-3/4" to 3" strips. I fold the raw edges to the inside as I crochet, because I prefer them hidden.
