Antique Buffet Makeover
Found this great buffet when I went to purchase two vintage tables from a lady who posted them on a Facebook group. When I got there and I was looking over the tables I saw a glimpse of this hidden behind a bunch of boxes.
I asked her if this was for sale. She said she wasn't intending on selling it but she and her husband had tried sanding the top and there was some staining that kept coming through so she knew she couldn't re-stain it. Soooo
She said "Yes, I suppose I could sell it." Then the question of how much. She told me "I'll sell it to you for $50 just what I paid for it." SOLD! The only issues it had was the molding around the handles on the doors was coming off and a piece on one of the legs was cracked so I had to glue and clamp it.
No biggie. I brought it home and posted it to sell for a custom order. It sold within a half hour. The lady who bought it wanted this color, which I love. The color is General Finishes Persian Blue.
I took all of the moulding off of the doors and just painted it an off white where it was.
I distressed the piece with 220 grit sand paper and clear waxed.
I used the original hardware and just cleaned them up with white vinegar.
