Raised Bed Gardening

Our lot is mostly wooded, but we found two strips in the yard where we could add raised beds to plant a vegetable garden. You can see more about the raised beds at: http://diydesignfanatic.blogspot.com/2012/04/raised-beds.html
We built 4 raised beds in our North garden this year.
The South garden is on a hill, so we terraced the raised beds.
We built cages for our tomatoes so that critters wouldn't get the harvest.

Stephanie....we have 2 outdoor male cats who take care of rabbits and other small animals. We have all the tomatoes in wired cages, as well. We had deer come by once and nibble off some of our tomatoes before we wrapped the inner cages with wire (hardware cloth)
