Boys Room Makeover Part 1

Diamond In The Rough
by Diamond In The Rough
When I found out I was having baby #3 I knew I wanted to move the better furniture in the boys room and use antique furniture in the baby room. I bought all their furniture before I was a lover of old things. I paid a lot of money for my first borns furniture and now I am painting over it!
Here is the chest of drawers from the set I got for my first born. There were many of fights over this. haha I mean, I HAD to have the BEST for that baby, right?? When I hear about first time parents doing this, I hope they don’t regret it like me. I am just thrilled I get one last baby to do their room vintage style! Anyway y’all know I had to chevron this baby up.
I apologize for the pictures but when you have kids sometimes your best work is done at night and in your living room. I started doing the stencil in the center on each drawer. I have done this several times now and for the design to be right, you must do this! I have done this the wrong way and had to completely start over or do something else. I painted the body in Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Artissimo and the white is Websters mixed with Behr Antique White.
I used Frog tape to hold the stencil on the drawers. I couldn’t get the drawers to come out so I had to paint and stencil with them on the dresser. It would have been a lot easier if they would have come out!

That came out really awesome! I was a little apprehensive about the chevrons…but it looks great; especially with that little pop of the knobs! Well done!
