Fun Bedroom Updates
My niece's bedroom has come a long way over the last year. While my sister and her family were away, I snuck over and added window treatments.
Her room originally started out as a storage area.
There is a lot of color going on in her room, so we decided to do simple white curtains and dress them up with a penant banner. I sewed the banner but you could make a no sew version using iron on hem tape.
The paper lantern lights are from Ikea. They were the perfect color for her room but I had to get new cord kits because the ones from Ikea didn’t come with an on/off switch. I think they dropped the ball on that one. Who wants to plug in a light every time they want to use it? I found the cord kits at Christmas Tree Shoppes but they are also available online.
The windows and lighting are done. Next we will be tackling a gallery wall. While I was hanging the penant banner, I noticed that my niece has a fondness for stuffed animals and bags. The ones in the pictures are just the tip of the iceberg plus she won four new ones on vacation. Soon she will need an intervention, but right now I am looking for a fun storage idea for her critters.

Fun changes! I have "corrected" the plug in light issue by purchasing the rotary on/off switches and simply installing the on/in to the cord at the location I wanted them to be. They truly are simple. For future reference :)
