Cottage Chic Fireplace Redo

The hubby and I had such a fun time tackling our first big home improvement project! We gave our old brick fireplace a fun and fresh cottage chic look!
We started by covering the existing fireplace with plenty of 2x4's and sheet rock. We framed out the mantel and added two mantel pillars!
We added a nice pop of color by placing some stained board and batten in the center top of our fireplace.
Lastly, it was time to decorate! I added some bright yellows and turquoise accents! I can't believe the difference this has created in the whole entire dining room! I look forward to every holiday just so I can redecorate our fun space!

@Sheila Zimmerman I think that was a good choice that way if brick ever comes back they can just take down the sheet rock :)
