Small glass shards can be easier to pick up with a wet paper towel.

I like to pick up the larger pieces carefully by hand then vacuum up the smaller bits...then as a final measure use a wet paper towel to get the fine stuff. The larger bits get put in a cardboard box or double thick paper sack...this way the sharp bit do not stab anyone.
  • Sack? have not heard that in years! Both comments are great. Just be sure to wear some hand protection if you can. Glass shards can be difficult to remove when stuck in your hand or fingers.

Thanks for the tips - I'm always worried the kids will get hurt from a left over piece which I missed by sweeping.

Be sure to wipe up with the wet towel more than once just to be sure.

That broken glass should be all gone by now (2015 haha) but I clean up small glass pieces with bread slices. It works!
