Nautical Themed Guest Room

This room was my son's before he left the nest and then it became a guest room. At first it was just kind of boring with all cherry matching furniture and blue walls. I wanted a change and after finding vintage swimsuits framed on a wall in a design magazine I wanted that look. I knew I couldn't afford ones like the designer since they run over $1000 so I searched a way to make my own. I found the suit on ebay and then framed it in a shadow box. Then the room kind of evolved over time with updated colors on furniture and the walls and found accessories collected from flea markets, retail stores, ebay and online stores.
Painted the bed white with Pure White Annie Sloan chalk paint and distressed it.
Red buffalo checked curtains are from Country Curtains. They were moved from the breakfast room.
All bedding is by Pottery Barn except the striped pillow cases are from Land Of Nod and throw pillows are from other sources.
