Fall Mantel & How to Make a Fall Banner

Today I’m sharing my Fall Mantel & How to Make a Fall Banner! If you’re thinking, “Hmm didn’t she already show us her mantel a few weeks ago?” Well yes I did here but now I’ve revamped it, added some color and made a fun Fall Banner that cost me 0.
If you know me by now you know I LOVE banners and I think they are so darn cute for holidays too. I thought it would be great to make a Fall Banner with scraps of fabric I had so it cost me nothing and didn’t take a lot of my time. Here’s what I came up with.
I remembered I had this pretty Ralph Lauren Charlotte fabric in my stash and it was the top of a flat sheet I had used for another project a while back.
I also wanted to add a little more color but didn’t want to go super bright orange and stay more subdued like the peach, rust, olive green and brown in the fabric.
So I added this adorable orange and black zebra candleholder I found the other day at a thrift store and will share on Tuesday Treasures later. I knew it would make a cute pumpkin stand. I found that orange sweater pumpkin last week and shared it on Tuesday Treasures here.
The green pumpkin in the center of the mantel and two more in the tray on the table were Dollar Store Pumpkins that are bright orange when you buy them and I panted them peaches and greens and then dry brushed them to give them an aged look. I love the way they turned out. I was a painting fool this weekend and I can’t wait to share something I’m making and will be sharing on Friday, some you have to come on back.
Here is the easy step by step tutorial to make this Fall No Sew Fabric Banner. I had bought these wood fall letters at Michaels for another project and they were $1.69 each and I had a 40% off my entire purchase. I used them to trace the Fall letters with pencil. Once I did that I used pinking shears and cut my four pieces and cut out the triangle on the bottom too.
I grabbed my paint brush and chocolate brown paint and slowly painted in the letters. I love painting on fabric as it is so easy and I let it dry and then came back 2 hours later and did another coat.
I knew I wanted a lil animal print too so I use the letters again and traced on this fun Pottery Barn fabric I had. When I was painted I painted the letters bigger so the brown paint would show.
The next 5 easy steps are on the blog so please click the link below and come on over.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and have a great day, Lisa
