Black Chalkboard Cabinets With Pallet Backsplash

I'm in love with the rustic black cabinets these days. I decided to paint and distress my cabinets in my kitchen and add pallet boards to accent the black.
After painting the cabinets I lightly distressed the cabinets using a sander.
I wasn’t happy with the color of wood in the distressed areas.
See the difference! I like the new color a whole lot better.
After cleaning up the dust and fingerprints, I added a few layers of Polycrylic to seal in the chalk paint.
Then, I added the pallet boards above and a few bellow for a pallet board back splash. Follow my kitchen makeover as it happens at www.scrapality.com.

I love this especially the walls. I'm sharing this one wth my daughter. She and her hubby just got there 1st home and just like a lot of us started, it's a fixer upper. But her kitchen doesn't have much wall space due to huge Windows and a built in hutch. So this will be perfect for her country home. Thanks for sharing. P.s. how did you adhere the boards?
