Chalk Paint French China Hutch

I love to refinish furniture! I have a bunch in the garage and I have to STOP myself from getting more! I hate to see a sad piece of furniture that could have new life with just a little work.
I need a 12 step program......
This is a china hutch I refinished using ASCP in Paris Gray and Old White.
Closeup of the door on the hutch. I used AS Dark Wax to antique it.
The top of the hutch,
I also did a pair of farmhouse chairs to match. The little back covers are 100% linen with a hand stamped design.

Thanks to all! I love giving new life to pieces that have been discarded by others! I think this has enabled many younger folks (and some older ones too!) to be able to see an old, perhaps unattractive or damaged piece in a new light so that it once more becomes valuable and useful once more! Sometimes people that toss every piece of dark, wood furnitureā€¦(even pieces that were lovingly cared for by their family before them)ā€¦will fall in love with that same piece once it has been transformed with a coat of paint. To some who might worry, I rarely paint a piece of valuable, antique furniture. Most of what I can afford to buy is reproduction or lesser quality furniture from the turn of the century. For example, I have an antique, drop leaf desk upstairs that I found at a thrift shop but it is just gorgeous with inlaid wood and fine featuresā€¦.I have left that alone. I believe a house should have some contrast in itā€¦.not everything painted, not everything left in it's original state. In the end, it requires a practiced eye to tell whether paint will improve a piece or not. And PSā€¦I DO have a shop in an antique mall here in Virginia Beachā€¦because I didn't have any more room for my addiction!!

Thank you for this. I now own my late Grma's China hutch, which means a great deal to me. Since then, we have started remodeling our home into a farmhouse look and I was debating if I should paint the dark wood hutch. This post was perfect for it. Thnx again.
