Looking for a deeper-than-normal soaker tub

Hi, I'm in search of a 72" ACRYLIC soaker tub --either pedestal or footed-- that is deeper than the "usual tub". As in 65 gallons or more. I find ones that are long enough and the right style, but they're not deep enough... or just the opposite. Getting frustrated!
Also, any suggestions for the best company online to order from? I've been looking at Signature Hardware, but they only have so many to choose from.
Thanks!

  • Julie, your best option is to go to a showroom that sells quality tubs and pick out the one you like there. Here then can tell you what is really available and by whom. Then go home and find that model and manufacture on line. Going on line to search out something that may not be available other then special order which is perhaps why you cannot find what your looking for. As far as companies, or suggestions. The only thing I would suggest is that you purchase a cast tub if you can afford it and carry it into the room. Cast iron tubs hold the warmth of the water much longer then fiberglass or steel tubs do. And with a large soaking tub such as this you want the water to stay warm as long as possible. The only work around this is to purchase a bubbling tub. These tubs have micro holes on the bottom and sides and an air pump pushes air out of them creating a soothing effect much like a jet tub but without all the noise associated with it. These tubs also are easier to keep clean and sanitized then a jet tub. The biggest benefit of this is that you can purchase a heating device that will introduce warm air into the bubbles keeping the water warmer longer. Another is that these tubs are a whole lot lighter then the cast counterparts.
