Welcoming Fall With a DIY Project

I love welcoming a new season with a DIY project and this Fall sign was the first project I did this year.
I bought this wood frame at a yard sale and the burlap canvas at Michaels. They were both sitting around for a long time and then I found out they fit together perfectly! Love it when things like that happen!
To make it a fall project, the first thing I did was paint an orange pumpkin on it. Then, I dry brushed the frame with white paint.
After that, I added white polka-dots to the burlap and finished the pumpkin with a stem and some green vines.
I added the word 'fall' to the sign by cutting out fun shapes from an old book and using a black permanent marker for the letters.
In the end, I added some leather leaves to the pumpkin.
This project came out so great and tells fall that we are ready to welcome it with open arms! You can see more of the project here: http://www.mycreativedays.com/welcoming-fall-hankful-house/
