Rusty Bucket Planter

A few weeks ago I had asked the Hometalk community what I should do with a rusty bucket I picked up at a garage sale. Now, I'm sharing the results.
This is the piece. I don't know its history, but I love its rustic look and that it has German written on the side. I was given some really great suggestions and decided it would look really cool as a planter.
So we drilled some holes in the bottom of it for drainage.
I added some milk jugs to the bottom so I wouldn't have to use as much potting soil.
Because I don't know what this bucket used to contain, I decided to line it with a plastic bag and then put the soil in that. (I'm no gardener so I was going off what others suggested.)
And then I simply inserted some mums that I bought. That's it! Now we have a great rustic piece included in our outdoor fall décor. To see the whole process or for more pictures be sure to check out my blog.

Awesome bucket. (You probably only had to be concerned about what was in the bucket previously if you were growing something edible in it, but the bag will certainly lessen the wear and tear.)
