A few blogging friends and I participate in a monthly DIY challenge where we purchase the same item and then each decorate it with our own unique spin. This month our item was faux craft pumpkins from Michael's. I decided to do a gold and white glittering ombre effect on mine.

First, I painted mine white because my store was fresh out of white craft pumpkins. No biggie!

Then I painted the bottom third with gold leaf paint.

When that was dry, I brushed on some Mod Podge and applied the gold leaf and glitter, trying to create a graduated effect. Once that dried, I applied one last coat of Mod Podge over the entire pumpkin to seal in the gold leaf and glitter.

Check out all of the other pumpkin creations in the challenge. These ladies are extremely talented and came up with some unbelievable ideas!decor
